This bit is part of the snaffle family, particularly suitable for horses that are not accepting of a single jointed bit. This bit has loose rings to discourage fixing or leaning and a lozenge for even pressure distribution. This is not a severe bit; however, the bevel cheeks offer a little more control than the standard snaffle bit. The reins can be put onto the half-moon ring inside the cheek pieces to add leverage to the snaffle, encouraging a rounded head carriage and responsiveness from the horse.
